Most drum freight moves on a pallet — typically four drums per 1165×1165 AU pallet — secured with banding or shrink-wrap. If the contents carry a UN number, Packing Group and hazard class under the ADG Code 7.x, the job needs an ADG-compliant carrier, correct placarding, SDS review and a compliant consignment note. Drum count, gross weight per drum (a full 200L steel drum of liquid can run 220–250 kg), number of drums per pallet, DG classification, and origin/destination postcodes. DG freight typically prices higher than non-DG equivalents because of carrier DG licensing and compliant-vehicle availability. QFM returns a quote that includes DG surcharges up front — no surprise reclassification charges at depot.

Yes. Drum freight moves into manufacturers, distributors, chemical plants, mine sites, remote workshops and industrial estates. Flag forklift availability at each end — most drum deliveries need forklift unloading because the palletised gross weight often exceeds 1000 kg. Remote-site and construction-address deliveries are matched with carriers that carry the right on-board equipment and DG approvals.

Partial fills ship against the drum's declared contents — a 200L drum with 80L of product moves as that product at declared weight. Mixed-content drums are generally not allowed under ADG if the mix hasn't been assessed for segregation and compatibility.
