Drum Freight Services
200L drums are the workhorse unit of Australian industrial liquid freight — steel for solvents, oils and fuels; HDPE for acids, bases and water-based chemicals; fibre for dry powders. A large share of drum freight is DG-classified under ADG 7.x, which changes carrier eligibility, placarding, SDS handling and consignment-note wording. QFM arranges drum freight between manufacturers, distributors and chemical and industrial receivers across road and rail corridors, with DG compliance built into the carrier match from the start.
Most drum consignments move palletised — four 200L drums to a 1165×1165 AU pallet, banded and wrapped for transit — which pushes gross pallet weight past 1000 kg for liquid loads. That means forklift handling at each end, carriers with the right vehicle weight capacity, and delivery sites that can accept a heavy pallet. QFM confirms DG status, site access, forklift availability and lane pricing up front so the job runs without surprises.
