Yes for most legal, contract or tender envelopes — signed POD is the reason senders pay for courier or express-air over standard mail. Flag whether the recipient will be available at a specific address or floor, and any reception desk or concierge instructions. Authority-to-leave is available for lower-sensitivity document sends, but QFM defaults to signature unless the sender specifies otherwise.

Metro same-day couriers price on zone (pickup and delivery suburb) plus urgency level (standard, priority, direct). Interstate express-air is priced per envelope with flat overnight pricing to capital cities, with regional onward legs adding transit time rather than significant cost. Most carriers cap envelope freight at about 500 g and A4 flat thickness. Beyond that, the job reclassifies to a satchel (up to ~5 kg typical) or a parcel / carton.
