Hemmant sits ~5-10 km west of the Port of Brisbane, directly on the Gateway Motorway corridor that connects the port to the rest of the Brisbane metro. That positioning is why freight-forwarders and port-adjacent industrial tenants concentrate in the precinct — it is the first major industrial land west of the port.

No. QFM's Hemmant role is freight management for businesses located in the precinct — manufacturers, distributors, forwarders and industrial receivers. Port-terminal cartage and stevedoring are specialist services provided by port operators. Our work covers the pickup and delivery legs of freight that originates or terminates at a Hemmant address.

The Gateway Motorway is the primary artery — north to the airport and Bruce Highway, south to the M1 Pacific Motorway and Gold Coast, west to the Brisbane CBD via the Gateway Bridge. Lindum Road and Wynnum Road feed local industrial sites. That geography makes Hemmant freight well-positioned for both metro and interstate movement.

Freight-forwarder consignments are a significant share of Hemmant volume given the precinct's tenant density, but the freight mix is broader — pallets, cartons, crates and industrial components also move steadily from the general industrial receivers based in the area. The net profile covers import-distribution, export-consolidation and general industrial flows.

QFM does not operate on the Port of Brisbane wharf itself — wharf cartage and stevedoring are handled by port operators. Our role picks up where freight leaves the port area and moves to a Hemmant-based receiver, or where a Hemmant-based sender dispatches freight onwards into the Brisbane metro and interstate road network.
