Energy Freight Services

Solar panels, battery storage systems, inverters and oil-and-gas supplies share one thing: they tend to land on remote sites with limited-frequency lanes. QFM moves energy sector freight across solar panels and framing, battery storage (Class 9 DG for lithium), inverters, electrical switchgear and project freight for renewables and mining — with lead-time planning built in for WA, NT and far-north QLD destinations.

Most energy freight moves on pallet or flatbed, with specialist carriers for oversized project freight. Remote mining and renewable-project sites across WA (inbound through Perth), NT (inbound through Darwin) and far-north QLD add transit days and site-access planning. Battery systems need DG-compliant allocation; inverter and switchgear installs need careful handling and install-window coordination.

Energy Freight Profile

  • Solar Panel & Framing Freight: Palletised panels are oversized, orientation-sensitive and moisture-exposed — pallet build and wrap matter. Mounting rails and BOS hardware ride as separate line items; install-window coordination matches site install crews.
  • Battery Storage & Lithium DG: Residential and commercial battery systems (LFP, Li-ion) carry Class 9 ADG classification. Correct UN number, packaging, labelling and manifest before pickup; DG-compliant carrier allocation.
  • Inverter & Switchgear Transport: Shock-sensitive, weight-concentrated equipment moving into install sites via semi or specialist flatbed. Restraint, handling and loading-dock compatibility confirmed per site; tail-lift or HIAB where forklift unavailable.
  • Remote Mining & Project Site Delivery: Inbound freight to WA, NT and far-north QLD mining and renewables sites rides scheduled long-haul lanes plus regional agent or dedicated vehicle on the final-mile. Limited-frequency — lead time planning essential.
