Pallet type affects carrier selection and pricing — non-exchange carriers are often sharper on price when a CHEP or Loscam swap isn't required, so flag the pallet type and whether exchange is needed at quote stage.

Pricing is driven by pallet count, cubic (height × footprint), gross weight per pallet, stackability, and the origin/destination postcodes. Share those details via our quote page, along with any tail-lift or restricted-access notes at either end, and QFM will return a lane-appropriate quote across road, rail or air.

Yes. Pallets exceeding 1200 kg, taller than 1.8 m, or overhanging the footprint are routed through semi or B-Double carriers with the right forklift, tail-lift or crane capability at each end. Include actual dimensions (including any overhang) and weight when submitting the job — reweigh and reclassification at depot is the biggest cost surprise we help customers avoid.

Yes. Pallet movements extend well beyond the capital cities into regional towns and remote sites via road, rail and air. Interstate road-train corridors, rail intermodal consolidation and remote-site depot transfers are all handled as part of the booking — share the destination postcode or town and QFM will confirm the fastest reasonable route.

Pallet exchange is carrier-dependent. Some carriers participate in CHEP and Loscam exchange schemes (driver leaves empties at pickup, collects full at delivery); others are non-exchange and the sender manages pallet accounts separately. Non-exchange lanes are typically cheaper, so we ask up front. Mention the hire scheme and whether you want exchange on a given lane and we'll price accordingly.
